The best possible form of construction for a septic system
involves three things:
1.
Location from input sources
2.
permeability of soil
(draining capability)
3. Capacity design to fulfill basic input needs.

In this design the location of this 1000 gal. septic tank is 'downstream' from the underground water flow on the property. You must discover the flow direction of your underground water supply so as not to risk contamination from your sewer system.
In addition the outflow must continually follow a pre-established grade, usually a 1% drop maintained. This must be without any pockets or sewer pipe elevation variations throughout the entire length of the installation from the source, to the septic tank.
The view at the left is looking South and shows 50 feet of leach line with the infiltrators exposed. They are setting on 48" of gravel and will have an additional 36" of gravel on top.
