Better Logistics for Rural Living
The purpose of this writing is to acquaint those who may be interested in furthering a novel approach to an economic and cultural re-vitalization effort for rural Kansas. It is a solicitation for comments and ideas tangent to or complimentary with the following initiatives.
Establishing an online database for design and construction knowledge in building partially self-contained rural living compound systems.
Promoting and implementing the re-establishment of frontier and wilderness habitat and access avenues for all types of wildlife.
Establishing, educating, and promoting good neighbor information and contact policies for all rural compound residents.Creating family living compounds electronically connected to the mainstream via broadband Internet services.
Designing, and installing 10 kW wind turbine systems to partially provide compound utility power in economically preferred wind regions such as Kansas.
Actively soliciting economically qualified future compound customers currently non-resident to the Kansas plains regions.
Creating a rural information and security notification source for new residents via an on line community information center. This system should use a rural community controlled and owned Voice Over Internet Protocol system that will provide local telephone service.Establishing a home education center on line for rural compound resident children and adult computer training for Internet access.
Establishing an Internet web presence fee-based knowledge information center on rural living emphasizing material and cultural self-sufficiency.
Actively promoting State and Local legislation that will legalize, promote, and monitor Utility power generation ‘net metering’ buy back from small rural power generation providers.
Working with existing Departments of Parks and Wildlife, and other non-profit groups, to insure habitat restoration, creation, and maintenance.
With the above proposals in mind it is not difficult to understand their purpose. We would like to establish and coordinate efforts to positively affect quality of life issues in Kansa’s plains areas. In fact this initiative is not just to establish a new approach to rural living but to support existing communities as well. This is done in part by bringing in qualified community partners who engage in trading in local grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and auto repair shops.
These small town businesses are in dire need of new customers and locally present talent that could migrate from areas thousands of miles away. This customer base needs to have a compelling set of reasons for any re-location effort to be even marginally effective. This new lifestyle niche will present an opportunity for individuals or families to establish a truly new life purpose in a new environment with a new and compelling opportunity for personal freedom.

The American People need more freedom!
Freedom from congestion,
pollution, noise, traffic, high crime, personal and family dangers from gangs,
and the frenetic lifestyles of people commonly associated with urban and
suburban environments. I am convinced that there are thousands if not millions
of people now seeking such relief from the turmoil of their unsatisfying
mainstream existences.
Man has a compelling need for solitude and meditation. The circumstances complimentary to this are not generally available in our mainstream culture. The current hyper-capitalist hotbed of competitive values does not allow for the expression of these physical and emotional stabilizers. The practice and application of solitude fulfills a need to be more at peace with one’s self and with nature as arrayed in its natural circumstances. Those circumstances need to be preserved in order to be replenished with the virtues required to reinvigorate and re-substantiate our cultural existence and purpose. This type of environment will be in intense demand by generations to come.
I believe that rural areas in Kansas have the potential to provide a most fertile economic, environmental, and extended cultural avenue for lifestyle modification. It could be a key instrument in the re-vitalization of emotionally and culturally distressed urbanites now living in mainstream USA. This initiative will be grounded on fee-based access according to established levels of extended cultural need.
The Co-modification of lifestyles in the 21st Century
Most of us who have been raised in rural Kansas know one thing. A diminishing array of positive circumstances for survival. This is not a new phenomena. Rural Kansas residents have been leaving this environment since the 1880’s. The reasons have generally been the same, lack of opportunity, money, and permanence. That could change with an understanding about global changes in attitudes and lifestyles.
What most politicians seem to miss is the impact of lifestyle changes coming upon us in the 21st century. Maybe its not that they don’t know, maybe they don’t know what to do about it. The following is a concise review of current and future living and working conditions currently facing Kansans and what to do about it.
